The Netherlands and Senegal succeeded in qualifying for the round of 16 in the 2022 World Cup, after their victory over Qatar and Ecuador, respectively, at the end of Group A competitions.

  • The Senegalese national team snatched the qualifying card for the 2022 World Cup, after a convincing victory over Ecuador, 2-1, in the final match of Group A.

The exciting match witnessed Senegalese control from the start, until Ismaila Sarr scored a penalty kick at the end of the first half.

After Ecuador returned with Moises Saisedo’s goal, Senegal did not lag behind with a goal in the 70th minute, through captain Khalido Coulibaly, two minutes after Ecuador’s goal.

With this victory, Senegal qualified second from Group A, behind the Netherlands, to meet the leaders of Group Two in the round of 16, which will be determined later on Tuesday.

  • The Dutch team won the first place in Group A, after achieving an expected victory over the owner of the land, the Qatari team, with a score of 2-0.

After a good start for the Qatari team, the “Dutch Mills” regained control of the match, and one of the stars of the tournament, Cody Gakbo, scored the first goal with a shot in the 26th minute.

The Netherlands returned to add the second goal, through Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong, in the 49th minute, after a Qatari defensive confusion for a ball returning from the goalkeeper.

With this lead, the Netherlands will face the second-placed team in Group Two, whose final standings will be determined after Tuesday eveningโ€™s matches.

The final standings for Group A in the 2022 World Cup:
