More than 14 people, including 3 children, were injured in a shooting incident from an unknown car in the American city of Chicago, coinciding with the Halloween celebrations.
And the British newspaper, “Daily Mail”, quoted police as saying that they believed that there were at least two people who opened fire indiscriminately from an unidentified car, on a group of people who were meeting in the Garfield neighborhood.
The victims, including 3 children (between 3 and 13 years old), were taken to several local hospitals, while health officials in Chicago stated that their injuries ranged from normal to serious and critical.
Chicago Police Chief David Brau revealed in a press statement that the shooting took place around 9:30 p.m. Monday, at the California-Polk intersection.
He added that “the shooting from a passing car took place within 3 seconds, and was filmed by surveillance cameras, which the police are currently reviewing.”
It is not yet known whether the incident was revenge or gang-related, while Brau revealed that the circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation.
He continued, “We hope that the victims will be able to provide more clarifications. We have allocated a reward of up to 15,000 dollars to anyone who has information about the accident.”
