Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos received a red card, in his team’s 1-1 draw with its guest Girona in the Spanish League, on Sunday.
The referee’s decision to expel Kroos came in the 92nd minute of the match, after receiving the second yellow card after the first he received in the 55th minute.
As for what makes the red card “historic” and a milestone for the German star, it is the first case of expulsion for Kroos in his career spanning more than 15 years.
It took Kroos to reach the age of 32 and play 775 matches with Germany, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen in the “Bundesliga”, until he was sent off for the first time in his 776th match.
