The actress is rewarded for her hilarious role in The Innocent by and with Louis Garrel.
Noémie Merlant had already tried comedy with The Return of the Hero by Laurent Tirard, but she was largely eclipsed there by Jean Dujardin and Mélanie Laurent.
Five years later, she was rewarded with the César for Best Supporting Actress for another comedy: The Innocent, directed by Louis Garrel, where she plays the hero’s girlfriend.
Another supporting role, but completely hilarious and unmistakable – she comes close to eclipsing the entire cast with her slaughter and energy.
On the César 2023 stage, she greeted her director (“Louis, thank you for this great film”) and Anouk Grinberg, also nominated in the same category for The Innocent: “Anouk, it was incredible to meet you and to working with a great actress like you.”
Already nominated in 2020 for the César for Best Actress for Portrait of the young girl on fire by Céline Sciamma, Noémie Merlant will hold the title role of the new film Emmanuelle to be directed by Audrey Diwan.
