The funeral of the Jordanian artist Ashraf Talhat after his return from Egypt

Hundreds of Jordanians participated in the funeral of the artist Ashraf Telfah, who died a few days ago in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

The Jordanian Minister of Information, Faisal Al-Shboul, along with the head of the Jordanian Artists Syndicate, Muhammad Al-Abadi, and a number of officials, participated in the funeral of the body in the town of Jaafiya in Irbid Governorate, northern Jordan, the birthplace of the late artist.

Al-Abadi told TnT Universal Tv that the body of Ashraf Telfah “was not subjected to an autopsy at the forensic medicine center after arriving at dawn on Saturday, coming from Cairo, based on the desire of his relatives to suffice with the autopsy in Egypt.”

He stressed that “the syndicate will follow up, through the Jordanian embassy in Cairo, with the competent Egyptian authorities, the investigations it is conducting about Talfah’s death,” and that “everyone is awaiting the results of the investigations and the results of the autopsy.”

For his part, Ibrahim Talfah, the late artist’s brother, told TnT Universal Tv, “The family cannot give any details at the present time, pending the results of the investigations that are taking place in Egypt.”

He added, “The controversy and questions raised on social media regarding the circumstances of my brother’s death are not based on any evidence, and there are no details yet, pending security investigations and the release of autopsy results, which may be issued in the coming days.”

Talfah thanked the competent authorities, the Jordanian embassy in Cairo and the Artists Syndicate, noting that “everyone worked hard during the past days to uncover the facts and transfer the body to Jordan, for burial in its final resting place.”

The Jordanian director and artist died last Monday under mysterious circumstances, during his stay in a residential complex in Cairo.

The investigations conducted by the Public Prosecution in Egypt revealed that Talhat, who was found unconscious in his residence in Giza Governorate, had traces of wounds and burns in separate places of his body.

Details of what happened, according to the prosecution’s statement:

• Investigations revealed that the Rescue Police received a report from the supervisor of the property in which the deceased resided that he had seen him from the balcony of his residence lying on his face, so he informed the Rescue in her presence and one of the deceased’s relatives found that he was in a coma and that he was still alive, as his relative reported that he had diabetes, and that his brothers They tried to contact him some time ago without him answering them, and the police at that time did not discover any scattering of the contents of his house, and his friends and relatives who attended reported that all his belongings were complete and without missing, so an ambulance was called and he was taken to the hospital.
• The Public Prosecution moved to the residence of the late actor to examine him, and found that there were no traces of violence on his outer door handle or inside the dwelling, so she went to the hospital to question him, and found that he was in the critical care unit unconscious, and saw from examining his body the presence of traces of sporadic injuries on him, and by asking the specialist doctor, she reported that he was present. He is in a state of complete coma and has traces of multiple injuries and traces of wounds and burns in separate parts of his body. Upon signing a medical examination, it was revealed that he had a brain hemorrhage, a blood clot and an infiltration in the lung.
• The Public Prosecution asked a number of witnesses, who are the landlord of the deceased’s residence, his brother and his close friend, and their testimony did not indicate that there was evidence of any criminal suspicion in his death, and that they tried to contact him before discovering that he was in a coma and he did not answer them, and during that the Public Prosecution received a notification of his death The actor, on Monday morning, moved to discuss his body and assigned the forensic doctor to conduct an anatomy on him to explain the cause and how he was injured, and biological samples were taken from him to indicate the extent to which there was evidence of a criminal suspicion in his death.
