At the end of 2022, the Italian fashion house opened Gucci Valigeria its store dedicated to Gucci-branded suitcases and travel accessories. The opportunity to take a tour of the brand’s essential luggage to travel in style.
Over the past year, an expression has begun to take hold in France: revenge travel. Behind this English term, a trend that has grown since we have been living with the pandemic, to travel to try to erase our two years – or almost – cloistered inside.
The goal ? Traveling more and – at least we do – better.
The perfect opportunity for Gucci to celebrate its origins with Gucci Valigieria, its new Parisian boutique dedicated to the art of premium travel.
Gucci Valigeria, the origins of Italian luxury travel
It was the world of travel that inspired Guccio Gucci to create his eponymous house. He, who worked as a porter at the Savoy Hotel in London, became familiar with the tastes and trends in travel accessories of the wealthy clientele of the place.
Then it was at the Compagnie des wagons-lits, a railway hotel service, that he completed his knowledge, which in 1921 enabled him to launch his shop and his own craft workshop for the creation of luggage.
The Gucci house was born and with it extends a collection of models devoted to travel which seduces the international jet-set, whether we start from cinema, music, the arts but also the royal families.
First-class globetrotters who consecrate the Florentine label as a must.
It is therefore quite natural that Gucci opened, on December 20, 2022, the doors of Gucci Valigeria, its two-storey boutique inspired by the luxury travels of the Belle Époque.
“Gucci Valigeria strongly echoes our Florentine roots and our timeless craftsmanship,” said Marco Bizzarri, Chairman and CEO of Gucci in a press release.
He adds: “It’s a symbol of our heritage, reinterpreted over time for modern-day travelers and explorers around the world. Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris is the perfect place to host our first Gucci boutique. Valigeria is an ever-expanding portal to our world of travel and discovery.”
On the program is a collection of suitcases, bags and travel accessories that should appeal to all those planning their next excursions.
