The 2026 World Cup final, hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, is scheduled to take place in New Jersey at the MetLife Stadium. The entire schedule for the global soccer showcase has been announced by FIFA, featuring 104 matches in total.
MetLife Stadium: A Storied Venue
The MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, with a capacity of 82,500, will host the grand final on July 19th. This open-air stadium previously witnessed the Copa America Centenario final in 2016, where Chile secured victory in a penalty shootout against Lionel Messi’s Argentina.
Opening Matches Across North America
The tournament’s opening match is set to take place in Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca on June 11th, marking Mexico’s historic third time hosting the World Cup. Canada, hosting its first World Cup, will have its inaugural match on June 12th in Toronto, while the United States’ opening game will be held in Los Angeles at the home of the NFL’s Rams.
The expanded 48-team World Cup promises an exciting showcase of 104 matches, including an additional knockout round, departing from the traditional 64 games seen in previous editions.
